Nested Artwork#691

S

Hi.
Still working with Nested Artwork and this time I can’t very specific cause the time would take to explain the details but basically and mostly in State Machine things get weird… objects than disappear without reason or just charging the page to work later, when we make different animations the nested artwork doesn’t link correctly between them when you create the rules in State Machine… still a bit fresh I suppose. Or useful for the moment with very simple animations ^^’
Thanks guys

Can you share the .rev file so we can take a look at what’s going on? You might be missing some keys on a specific animation. Keep in mind that when animations play in the State Machine they are additive. So they might not look the same as they do when you are playing by themselves.

Hi @Guido Rosso thank you for answering.

That’s the sharing file. The animation is a bit messy and maybe too complex with details (just learning Rive tools).

  1. The animation freezes with the boolean values. Or the trigger one.
  2. I don’t know how to set the Nested Artwork to hide when the preview is set (as you can see before playing the animation there are two helmets). It happened the same thing with another project (Tintin Rocket) where the second replacement rocket doesn’t really hide.
Thank you and I hope you could handle it with the team :)

Hello, I have the same issue. In the state machine, I cant see correctly the animations that contain nested artboards.

Hey @Santiago Mansilla! I’ve looked over your file and found what was wrong. Because of the way you have set up your design, you have to remember to key all of the Talking artboards to 0% transparency and all of the Mute artboards to 100% transparency in your Mute Animation. And then key all of the Talking artboards to 100% transparency and Mute artboards to 0% transparency in your Talking Animation.

By doing this, each time you swap from one animation state to the other, you are overriding and toggling the visibility of the relevant artboards that make up your character. You were halfway there when you hid the Talking artboards in your Mute animation!

I’ve attached a version of your file that I’ve updated with this fix above, for your reference.

Thank you! Now it works! I see the state machine in my file working fine, I can switch with the boolean.
But when I published in the community the mute and talking animation are both showing at same time.
