I would like to suggest the ability to add relative keyframes to animations to assist in creating smoother transitions between animation states.
So what this means in practice, the user checks a checkbox to make an animation or state relative. So this turns the leading keyframes in each object/property of an animation into a relative keyframe. This means the keyframes no longer represent their explicitly defined vales, but instead represent the last values set for those object/properties from previous states or animations.
Animation blending doesn’t rseem to remove all the akwardness encountered during transitions. Relative keyframes provide more control over the timing of each object/property being transitioned.
This would especially be useful when using the Any State to transition arbitrarily between a set of states.
