Assets panel#116

Planning to add an Assets panel, similar to Rive 1. When you drag and drop files into the Editor, they’ll go into the Assets panel. You can then drag them where you want on the stage (or into an existing artboard).

This is a first step to supporting #29 and #69.

Good, this asset panel was very useful thing. On the same place up we have the artboard content and hierarcy tab. Can they be merged so the hierarchy of elements is as they are placed on the artboard? Do we need separated hierarchy tab? Why not just have artboard list and where something is on the top then it showe on the first plan, etc.

Hi @Martina Wolna not sure what you mean, can you share a screenshot? Is it possible you’re looking at the old version of Rive? The hierarchy doesn’t have tabs in the new version of Rive.

Hi Guido, I am working on a project which requires the import of raster assets and I was wondering if there is any update about the asset panel. In case the assets panel is still far ahead, I was wondering if there is currently any “indirect” way to import rasters into Rive. For example: importing rasters into a Rive 1 project and then importing the Rive 1 project into Rive 2.

Hi @Gianluca Martini, we are working on it but we’re not sharing any timelines at the moment. Unfortunately there isn’t an indirect way to import raster images since the Editor and the Runtimes are not currently setup to support or even render them.

We are working on it though and it’s a priority for our team.

Hi, I’m wondering if you plan to add options to make assets such as rasters dynamic so that they can be changed at runtime?

Is there any progress in this regard? Drag and droping different SVGs into the same project is currently not a very good experience, and I read on another thread that this will fix that as well. Thank you
